Welcome to Running-Contacts.com

Running-Contacts.com is a resource for anyone who is interested in running contacts for agility. If you are currently training running contacts on an A-Frame, a Dogwalk, or both, you should find lots of resources here to help you.  If you are wondering whether running contacts are right for your dog you will find lots of information to help you decide.

What’s Here

It’s my intention that this Blog will be a clearinghouse for running-contact information. The pages and posts here will  eventually have links to all of of the valuable resources on the web including:

  • Videos of Training Sessions
  • Training Blogs
  • Competition Video – Illustrating Advantages and Disadvantages of Running Contacts
  • Information on Various Systems and Methods of Training
  • And Lots More!

What to Do With the Information That’s Here

Many methods for training running-contacts require good observational skills.  You often need to be able to see foot positions and gait changes.  Developing that skill takes practice.  I think that this site can be a tremendous help in that regard.  We have links to a huge number of videos.  Obviously the dogs don’t always do everything perfectly.  This gives you a great opportunity to observe the performances and decide if it would have met your current criteria.  In this way you can develop superior observational skills and reflexes.

What Else Should Be Here?

If you see something that you think should be on this site – tell me about it.  Use the feedback form to send me a link  and I’ll take a look.

Have fun and let me know what you think.

I have been training my fast little golden by Silvia Trkman’s website. Occasionally I email her and she always responds so graciously. She really has been an encouragement for the free spirited dogs and handlers out there. I am glad to find your site and all the information. I am really glad to see others around here that are using running contacts and surviving! I will be here often. Your site is now on my button bar!!! Great work.
